NSW Government Department of Births, Deaths & Marriages
New “Medical Certificate Cause of Death” (MCCD) forms were introduced in late 2020 after a lengthy review.
The review included representatives from the Registry of Births Deaths & Marriages (the Registry), Department of Health, Australian Medical Association and Office of the State Coroner.
The review examined how the form looked, what information was collected and how the form would be distributed.
New Arrangements
Following the review, it was decided that MCCD forms are no longer provided directly to Nursing Homes.
